In Tomball, Texas

iplSun damage occurs over time and starts to appear in the form of wrinkles, sunspots and tiny red vessels. As these conditions surface, many want to address the problems and look for a solution to rejuvenate their skin. At Helios Med Spa in Tomball, Texas we offer patients in Houston and the Woodlands the ability to revitalize their sun-damaged skin, trading their brown spots for a more youthful and clearer complexion.  Dr. Waqar Khan and his staff utilize an IPL Photofacial pulsed light device to help your skin look more youthful and radiant, ridding you of undesirable aging effects such as skin discolorations, redness, sun spots, brown spots and freckles.

Limelight™ IPL Photofacial Treatment

Our IPL Photofacial device, the Cutera Limelight, is ideal for any part of your face, neck and décolleté treating redness, tiny vessels called telangiectasia or brown spots. Light brown spots, which may have been previously difficult to treat, respond very well to the Limelight IPL Photofacial. Advantages of this device over others is the fact that it allows our staff to select customizable settings to your skin type, resulting in better overall outcomes and results.

At Helios, the Limelight Photofacial is one of our most popular and highly requested procedures. Because the light energy is absorbed by areas with increased pigmentation and redness, IPL effectively eliminates skin discoloration (like freckles and sun spots) and reduces redness. The light energy also stimulates collagen production in the skin, helping smooth fine wrinkles and improve skin tone.

What happens in the treatment?

The IPL Photofacial takes only about 30 minutes to complete. When the pulse of light is delivered, patients will experience a mild pinching or stinging sensation. While the skin will appear flushed right after treatment, the redness will fade within a few hours.

When will I see results?

Results usually happen within one to three weeks, with the treated brown spots often darkening prior to flaking off and fading. Diffuse redness and small vessels will decrease and your mottled complexion will improve.

How many treatments are needed?

One to three treatments are usually sufficient to see results, spaced 3 weeks apart. Additional treatments may be recommended, especially for those with excessively sun-damaged skin.
